Mandy and I finished packing and cleaning our apartment in Glendora, and we left Southern California on Saturday, August 1st. Following a short road trip, we arrived in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. We have, thus far, enjoyed a week of cool weather and rainy afternoons (a stark and refreshing contrast to the perpetually warm and sunny SoCal). We spent a few days camping with Mandy's parents at Big Meadows Reservoir, a nice campground northwest of Pagosa, and then we spent the day at the La Plata County Fair (located in Durango, CO). The only fair I (Justin) have ever been to is the LA County Fair, which is hardly comparable to the nice, small-town feel of the one in Durango. We have a week and a half left in Pagosa before we head to Jerusalem, so we are trying to take time and get focused on the last minute details that need to be taken care of before we leave the States, while still trying to spend time visiting with family.
Mandy and I feel a little out of sorts in Colorado because it feels like a weird blend between a vacation and being homeless. Nevertheless, we are glad for the time to rest before heading to Israel. In fact, we are planning to get away this week and head to Ouray, a quaint mountain town about three hours away, for a couple days of relaxation. We leave for Israel, as many of you know, on August 19th. In light of that, please keep us in prayer for:
- safe travel
- finances
- and, that everything would work out smoothly as we transition to Israel
We are grateful for your prayers and support as we embark on this adventure! Stay tuned because the next entry will, if all goes well, find us in Jerusalem. Shalom!
